Being a writer

So, If you’ve read any of my comics, you might know I’m a pretty decent writer. I have many things that i enjoy creating: Comics, Videos, Games, you name it. The thing is, however, you may not know that I have been writing some books and zines. (40% because it’s fun and 60% because I wanna sell them) I and pretty proud of my collection but I don’t want to really publish them yet so you’ll have to wait until I have done the process of doing it and added a page on this website where you can buy them or work with Amazon KDP and sell them on Amazon. I’ve been doing this as a fun side hustle and a way to earn money as a teen and not just depend on allowance. So far I really like making story time books like my book Jack’s Stand but this might surprise you but I don’t exactly like making comic books. Even though I like Comic strips, comic books just feel kind of overwhelming and so far I only made what I like to call a comic booklet of the origin of Sheisse Shenanigans but if you watch Kesh you might call it a mini-comic or you might also call it a zine, but zines are different. If you did not know, zines are actually a broader term of independently published non-commercial books that go in a more smaller circulation than traditionally mainstream books, often usually in less than 1000 copies. This makes zines perfect for things like showcasing art and poetry, showing perspectives and political views, and, of course, small magazines and comics. I kind of like making zines, especially the ones where you just take a piece of paper and fold it into a tiny booklet because they are very easy to print. Although printing something at home can seem amateur and unprofessional, first of all, that’s part of the charm, especially for homemade books like zines. Second of all, if you want it to look professional, you can book bind it. Book binding is a very nice process, if you have some sewing knowledge then it’s pretty easy to do. One method that is very favored by beginners is the saddle stitch method. It can be used for every kind of book, as long as it’s soft cover. If you want a hardcover, you might need smyth sewing, This makes it able to be lay completely flat, which makes it especially recommended for cookbooks or novels. Alright, I thing that’s all I’m going to talk about.

Bis spater!
